Meet Your 2026 Board of Directors Officers
Every year, the members of the MNCBG elect industry leaders to serve on our Board of Directors. Our Board is made up of 9 members, and each serve for two years per term. Any regular brewery/brewpub member staff is invited to nominate themselves or another for the Board, and at least 70% of MNCBG regular brewery and brewpub member businesses cast a vote in our elections. Our Board steers the organization’s overall strategy and services, supports and manages Guild staff, and ensures the fiscal health of the organization.
At the start of each service year, the Board of Directors elects four of their members to become Board Officers and take on special leadership roles within the Board and organization. President: Nathan Schneider, Co-Owner — Trove Brewing Company, Burnsville
The MNCBG President presides at all meetings of the Board, ensures the participation and engagement of the rest of the Board, and acts as the direct supervisor of the MNCBG Director-Level staff. The President is often called to speak on behalf of the organization and industry, and is able to delegate tasks to other Board members. Nathan joined the Guild Board in 2023 and was reelected to serve a second term (2025-2026). Nathan has been a Board liaison to the MNCBG Legislative Committee, and now acts as liaison to our Event Committee and Hemp Committee. He also served as the ICO and Treasurer before being elected as President.
Vice President: Kabel Lefto, Packaging Technician — Insight Brewing Company, Minneapolis
The MNCBG Vice President ensures the participation and engagement of other Board members, and takes on any duties of the president in the absence or disability of the president. Kabel joined the Guild Board in 2023 and was reelected to serve a second term (2025-2026). Kabel is a Board liaison to the MNCBG Events Committee, and will help us launch a Marketing Committee in 2026.
Treasurer: Matt Johnson, Owner & Chief Consultant — Scientia Beverage Consulting (Allied Trade Member)
The MNCBG Treasurer works with the Executive Director to prepare and oversee the organization’s annual budget and quarterly budget reports. They are responsible, along with the support of the whole Board, with ensuring the finances of the organization stay on track. Matt was elected to the Guild Board in the 2025 election, and will serve 2026-2027. Matt has been a general member of the MNCBG Education Committee, and will now act as Board liaison to the Education and Events Committees.
Internal Communications Officer: Jeremy Mathison, Founder & Operations Manager — Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative, Minneapolis
The MNCBG ICO records and maintains minutes for all Board meetings, and acts as the first point of contact for members who have questions for the Board. Jeremy was elected to the Guild board in the 2025 election, and will serve 2026-2027. Jeremy has been a general member of the MNCBG Legislative Committee, and will now act as Board liaison to the Legislative Committee.
