Brewers Day at the MN Capitol

First of all, thank you to all the members who came to the Brewers Day at the Capitol on April 21! We had 8 breweries attending, including 3 Board of Directors members, to represent the industry to their local legislators. Although attendance was lower than hoped for and the legislature was… well, legislating (i.e. busy), incredibly productive conversations were had with both existing champions and NEW champions.

2026 Brew Du Nord: Loi Awards

We were honored to award Sen. Grant Hauschild (03, DFL) and Rep. Nolan West (32A, R) with the 2026 “Brew Du Nord: Loi” Award on behalf of the industry. Senator Hauschild carried our Excise Tax Language in 2025 and successfully had it added as the only amendment in the Taxes Conference Committee. Rep. West has been a strong advocate for small businesses and hemp producers.

Post-Hill Climb Happy Hour

We finished the day at Bad Weather for a happy hour attended by Rep. Kristi Pursell (58A, DFL) and Rep. Ned Carrol (42A, DFL). Especially as we plan for the 2027 session, it was critical to inform legislators of the current state of craft beer, and we are grateful for everyone who came.
