MNCBG Member Scholarships

CBC Scholarship Details:

Awarded to brewery or brewpub members to help businesses offset the cost of attending the annual Craft Brewers Conference. Scholarships are awarded in the form of a registration reimbursement. Recipients will be selected based on need and our goal of supporting a variety of MN craft breweries and brewpubs. Only one scholarship per business will be awarded.

Eligibility: Any MNCBG member brewery or brewpub is welcome to apply. The application is likely best filled out by someone in a leadership role, but this is not required. Please note: the reimbursement will be awarded to the member brewery, not the individual who completes the application.

2024 Professional Development Scholarship Details:

MNCBG Professional Development Scholarships support programs related to continuing education, training, certification, etc. Recipients will be selected anonymously, based on need, by members of the Guild’s EDU Committee. Application is open year-round, applications will be reviewed twice a year. Scholarships will be awarded as a reimbursement check for program expenses; receipt of purchase will be required.

Expenses & Programs: Scholarship may be used for most expenses incurred to participate in professional development, including registration, tuition, books and supplies, travel and lodging, childcare, etc. Past Recipients used their scholarship to support their participation in:

  • MBAA Brewery Maintenance Course
  • OSU Beer Quality & Analysis Series
  • Festival and Event Management Online Course
  • Online Classes through
  • Craft Brewers Conference 2023
  • Cicerone Program Level 2
  • Hop & Brew School
  • Digital Marketing Bootcamp
  • Micromatic Advanced Training

Eligibility: Any staff (FT or PT) employed at an MNCBG member brewery or brewpub is welcome to apply. Scholarships will only be awarded to applicants who list a specific program/plan for their scholarship, and funds must be used for that program only. The Guild highly encourages staff who are underrepresented in the MN craft beer industry to apply for our scholarships.

Owners/operators can also apply for these scholarships to provide continuing ed training for their staff more broadly, but individual applications will be prioritized. If applying for staff, please indicate how many staff will receive training through the program.

Membership Dues Aid Details:

We believe membership in state and national brewing associations provides numerous benefits to craft breweries and brewpubs and makes our industry, it’s staff, and it’s product better. Starting in 2024, to help MN’s breweries and brewpubs offset the costs of membership to the MNCBG or to the national Brewers Association, the MNCBG is proud to offer Dues Support to our members. Any member or prospective member of the MNCBG may apply. This aid is meant to support businesses where membership cost is a significant barrier to participation in either organization.

Diversity in Brewing Scholarship Details:

As part of our mission to promote, protect, and grow a robust MN craft brewing industry, the MNCBG offers scholarships to individuals at member brewery/brewpubs throughout the year, and provides scholarships to students enrolled in the Dakota County Technical College‘s Brewing and Beer Steward Technology Certificate Program.

Timing and Other Details: Applications are made through DCTC’s regular aid application. Be sure to select the Diversity in Brewing Scholarship. Applications are open in April and September each year. See the Diversity in Brewing Page to learn more.
