All Pints North

August 1 @ 3:30 pm7:00 pm

After careful deliberation, the MNCBG Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 All Pints North Festival scheduled for August 1 in Duluth. The health and safety of craft beer fans, brewery staff, and the hundreds of volunteers, staff, and vendors of the festival remain our top priority; we believe this decision, though deeply disappointing, is the responsible action to take to keep our community safe.

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild and our 150+ brewery members greatly value your support of Minnesota craft beer. While the MNCBG’s standard festival policy is no ticket transfers and no refunds, we are pleased to be able to adjust this policy during this unusual circumstance.

Unfortunately, as a small nonprofit that has already invested in the planning of this festival, we are not able to provide cash refunds on these tickets. However, any purchased ticket for APN 2020 will automatically be transferred to the 2021 All Pints North festival, which will take place on July 31, 2021, at Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth. You do not have to take any action for this ticket transfer to take place. In the spring of 2021, new tickets will be sent to you via email.

All Pints North is one of our industry’s most important and joyous events of the year, and we are very saddened that we will not be celebrating with you this year. To honor the event, craft beer fans, and our craft brewing community, the MNCBG is developing a free online event for the weekend of August 1. Keep an eye out for more information soon.

We continue to be deeply grateful for your support of Minnesota craft breweries, Minnesota beer, and the people who make it. If you have any questions about All Pints North or your ticket transfer, please email us at info@mncraftbrew.org.

  • FAQ

Why was the fest canceled so early/late?
The MNCBG hosts four major public events each year through the hard work of our nonprofit staff of three, a small festival committee of brewery volunteers, and the help of ~200 public volunteers throughout the year. We pride ourselves on the quality of our events for craft brewery fans, volunteers, and the breweries that are featured.

It is extremely important to the Guild that we provide festivals that are unique, fun, and safe for craft beer fans and event staff. We have been monitoring federal and state guidelines closely since early March. APN is the MNCBG’s largest festival; it brings significant opportunities to hundreds of Minnesota businesses and reaches thousands of craft beer fans across the region. Canceling such an important event was not a decision to make lightly, and for some months it seemed like APN 2020 might occur as planned.

However, at this time state and federal guidelines do not indicate that safe gatherings of thousands of people will be possible by August. Canceling the event now will allow the hundreds of businesses—breweries, vendors, sponsors, attendees, the City of Duluth, and others—to better prepare for the coming months with less uncertainty. It will also prevent more craft beer fans from purchasing a ticket to a festival that we cannot guarantee will occur.

Why no refunds?
The MNCBG’s event policy has always been that tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a different festival. Due to these unusual circumstances, we are pleased to be able to adjust this policy and transfer all existing 2020 APN tickets to the 2021 APN festival.

However, the MNCBG is a small, Minnesota nonprofit organization that relies heavily on All Pints North ticket sales to maintain our organization’s annual operations. Organizing an event of the size and complexity of APN requires that many of our expenditures for the fest to be made months ago. At this period in the year, the Guild simply does not have the funds to absorb the already-incurred planning costs of All Pints North in addition to cash refunds on tickets sold.

In addition to the many services we provide our brewery members, we also put on numerous events for the public, including Winterfest, All Pints North, the Brewed in Minnesota exhibit at the MN State Fair, and Autumn Brew Review. We need to maintain our standard no-refunds policy in order for the MNCBG to exist in the future, to support MN’s craft beer industry after the pandemic, and to provide these events to the public next year and beyond. We appreciate your understanding and support of small businesses and organizations, like ours and the breweries we represent, as we all adjust to the consequences this pandemic has had on our operations.

How will my tickets be transferred to the 2021 festival?
You do not have to take any action for your tickets to be transferred to APN 2021. All tickets purchased at this time will be automatically transferred. If you have a unique ticket type, that ticket type will maintain during the transfer (example: if you have purchased a MNthusiast VIP ticket, your 2021 ticket will be a MNthusiast VIP ticket, regardless of your 2021 MNthusiast status).

In May of 2021, all current ticket holders will be emailed new tickets. If you have lost access to your email account during that time, we will be able to send tickets to a new email address.

I have another question.
